The 12th Mediterranean Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, to be hosted by the Red Cross of the Republic of San Marino between 25 and 28 of May, will convene the National Societies of the Mediterranean to set the future lines of cooperation in the region according to the priorities areas identified.
It is important for the delegations of Mediterranean National Societies willing to attend the Conference to keep in mind the registrations deadline. Those requiring VISA should register not later than the 12th of March, to help participants avoid any delay during the visa issuance process.
During the Conference, the representatives of the National Societies will be able to share ideas, best practices and discuss the way forward while working on how Humanitarian Diplomacy can help foster the Fundamental Principles of the Movement, on the region’s Response and Preparedness to crises, and on the Assistance and Protection to Migrants.
Already underlined as one of the Strategic Objectives of the IFRC Strategy 2020, the promotion of “social inclusion and a culture of non-violence and peace” will also be discussed in depth during the Conference. And last but not least, participants will debate on Youth and Volunteering Promotion, as stated by the Strategy 2020, a solid National Society demands, a “stronger culture of voluntary service, and greater youth leadership and participation in National Society and community affairs”.
